New Comic Book Publisher Will Launch with Five Series, Including Indie Hit, Condrey
There’s a new legacy being formed in indie comics. Long-time journalist and author Patrick Hickey Jr. has joined forces with artist, letterer and podcaster John Svedese to form the new comic publishing brand, Legacy Comix. Artist Kieran X. Quinn (Condrey) and writer Afrim Gjonbalaj will join the team as their first signed creators as well.
“This is where the legacy of four talented people begins,” Legacy Comix Co-CEO and Editor-In-Chief Patrick Hickey Jr. said. “Together, we’ll tell amazing stories and connect with as many readers as possible in print and digital forms.”
Designed to give writers and artists the highest royalty rates possible for their work and free them of the shackles of pay per page or lukewarm salary constraints, Legacy Comix’s intention is to give writers and artists an opportunity to grow together, rather than apart.
“This isn’t sweatshop comics,” Legacy Comix Co-CEO and Chief Creative Officer John Svedese said. “This is an opportunity for writers and artists to connect in ways never done before.”
Launching with five different series ranging in genre from Crime Noir- to Sci-Fi and tradition Superhero tales, including Hickey and Quinn’s Condrey series, Legacy Comix is prepared to attract a wide variety of readers.
“Our books will kick ass. Our stories will be fun, gritty and legendary. This is our legacy to our readers,” Svedese said. “We will accept nothing less.”
