Experience North Media and Legacy Comix are proud to announce that The Oddsmakers, the short film and its Legacy Comix tie-in book, will be featured on a billboard at 401 at Pearson Airport in Toronto from Feb 12-18.
Sponsored by Tourism Cochrane and Canada Travel, the billboard was designed by Legacy Comix owner and Editor-In-Chief Patrick Hickey Jr. and features the art of Legacy Comix’s Steve Cange.
“This has been a fun project,” Hickey Jr., who also lettered and co-scripted the comic) said. “This is some of the best work of Steve Cange’s career and Timothy and his team are working very hard. We can’t wait to see everything come together and are excited for more people to find out about what we’re doing.”
Set and to be filmed this May in Cochrane, Ontario, The Oddsmakers film is a gritty adventure of suspense and intrigue. Powered by the culture and atmosphere of the area, Experience North’s Timothy Hazin (who is also the creator/writer and a primary performer in the film) is excited for the attention and awareness the billboard will bring to the project, but also the community he also calls his home.
“This is film is for anyone within the African Diaspora, that is who is at the core of the team and the main performers. Working with Steve (who has Haitian heritage) means that we were able to have the culture shape this project at every step. We are so excited and grateful that the town of Cochrane is supporting this film by advertising the project during Black History month, and as we look for support during our fundraising phase which launches this week,” Hazin said.
