Brooklyn, New York – September 9, 2022 — Legacy Comix is proud to announce a new eight-page ashcan based on the recently-released Jambone Pictures pro wrestling film “The Ballad of Gia & Frankie.” The comic is scheduled for a Fall release and will be co-written by the film’s creators, John Ambrose and Justin Ciardullo, as well as Legacy Comix Editor-in-Chief Patrick Hickey Jr. Joshua Adams (GODFOE Universe, Sarita, Dem Gulls) will develop the art and lettering.
After working with the Bram Stoker estate on Renfield Visions of Madness, the Legacy team is excited to get the opportunity to work on a film property.
“In a short period of time, we’ve proven ourselves worthy of handling other IPs and this is going to be a special project for us,” Hickey Jr. said. “Josh and I are big wrestling fans and the script here is a fun one. We cannot wait for people to see this either before or after they enjoy the film.”
The team at Jambone Pictures also expressed their excitement at the prospect of bringing their film to the comic book world.

Legacy Comix will help expand the Gia & Frankie universe through the comic book and spread this inspirational story to comic and wrestling fans around the world.”
About the Ballad of Gia & Frankie:
In late 2019, Jambone Pictures uncovered footage unlike anything they had seen before. These videos portray the rise of LGBTQ wrestler Gia Savitz, and their strange and hostile encounters with rival Frankie Firestarter. This disturbing saga unfolded over a period of 11 months until the mysterious disappearance of Frankie.
Selected by 19 film festivals, including the Sweden Film Awards, the Global Indie Film Fest, and the Couch Film Festival, The Ballad of Gia and Frankie is one of the only pro wrestling documentaries to receive such recognition for its raw emotion and innovative storytelling.
